Looking for something to do this winter for pet lovers in Ontario? There’s lots to do in and around Toronto this winter to help you learn more about your dog or cat. From training and grooming to behavioral and social, there’s something for every kind of pet lover.

 

Here are some of the top pet events in Ontario for February 2019:

 

1. WESTIE INDOOR PLAY DAY

 

This is a fundraising event for Westies in Need Rescue. Bring your Westies and Westie wannabes to this off-leash, indoor event and let your dogs enjoy running around in a huge, warm space away from the winter snow and ice. Meet other Westie owners and get to know the people behind this wonderful organization. There will be refreshments for dogs and their two-legged companions to enjoy, plus a sales table full of goodies.

2. FOR THE LOVE OF 4-LEGGED FRIENDS – OSPCA

 

An educational event the whole family can enjoy. Come learn from some of the top recognized pet experts about your pet’s behaviour. Find out about early behavioral issues and training techniques from pet behaviorists. Get professional grooming tips for taking care of your fur babies. All for free. There’s also an opportunity to shop in the vendor’s market with 15% of proceeds going towards the OSPCA. Note per OSPCA policy, pets are not allowed at this event.

3. FROSTY PAWS CANINE SNOWSHOE RACE

 

Strap on a pair of snowshoes and leash up your dog for an exhilarating 5-km hike through the beautiful hills of Stayner near Collingwood. All family members and anyone interested can join the annual Frosty Paws Canine Snowshoe Race. There’s no need to race, take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Warm up at the bonfire and collect some cool swag and prizes for race enthusiasts.
